How to use the currency converter
This converter uses the mid-market exchange rate, the fair midpoint between the prices at which banks buy and sell a currency. It is the best number to compare offers from banks, exchange companies and money-transfer apps.
Convert money in 3 steps
- Type the amount. Commas are fine, and 2.5k means 2,500.
- Pick the currency you have in From and the one you want in To. Tap the arrows to swap them.
- Read the result, the rate for 1 unit, and the table of common amounts. Use Copy link to share this exact conversion.
Sending money home?
- Compare the rupees your family will receive, not only the fee
- A rate a few rupees below this one is normal; much lower means a big hidden margin
- Use official banking channels and licensed exchange companies
Why rates differ from place to place
Every bank and money changer sets its own buying and selling price. The gap between them is their profit. Card payments abroad also include a foreign-transaction fee.
In Pakistan you may also hear about the interbank rate, used between banks, and the open-market rate, used by exchange companies for cash. They are usually close, but can move apart on busy days.

The rates are updated once a day from an international exchange-rate provider. The time of the last update is shown under the result.
Why is my bank or money changer giving a different rate?
This converter shows the mid-market rate, the midpoint between buying and selling prices. Banks, exchange companies and remittance apps add a margin and sometimes a fee, so the rate you get is usually a little worse. In Pakistan the open-market rate can also differ from the interbank rate.
