How to make a resume that gets interviews
A resume (or CV) is a one or two-page summary of your experience, education and skills. Recruiters often spend less than a minute on the first read, so a clear layout and specific results matter more than fancy design.
Build your resume in 5 steps
- Add your name, job title and contact details. Use a professional email address.
- Write a 2–3 line summary for the job you want.
- List your jobs, newest first, with 3–5 results each. Start every line with an action verb.
- Add education, skills and languages. Add projects and certificates if you have them.

Which template is best for ATS?
Classic and Minimal are the most ATS-friendly because they use one column and simple headings. The PDF keeps real text and clickable links, so applicant tracking systems can read it.
Should I add a photo to my CV?
It depends on the country. Photos are common on CVs in Pakistan, the Middle East and parts of Europe, but usually left out in the US, UK and Canada. If you add a photo it appears on every template; leave it empty for those countries.
How long should my resume be?
One page for students and people with under 5 years of experience, two pages for senior roles. The preview marks where each page ends so you can see when it spills over.
